LENNY LORENZANI
After earning a degree in Piano from the A. Peri Conservatory in Reggio Emilia, where she studied with M. C. Mongini, Lenny Lorenzani continued her training in Milan under Eli Perrotta, performing with him both in piano four-hand repertoire and in the complete keyboard concertos of J. S. Bach with the Piccola Sinfonica di Milano. She later completed her musical education with a degree in Opera Singing at the Conservatory of Riva del Garda.
She further specialized in German Lieder with Elio Battaglia and in opera through masterclasses with Luciana Serra, under whose guidance she made her operatic debut in Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte by Mozart.
Equally active as pianist and singer, she has performed extensively in Italy and abroad, including Brazil, France, Spain, Portugal, and Mexico. Her operatic repertoire includes roles in Il Trovatore, La Traviata, Tosca, Cavalleria rusticana, La serva padrona, Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Re Enzo by Ottorino Respighi. She has appeared in major festivals and historic venues such as Teatro Bonci in Cesena, the Roman Theatre of Volterra, Teatro Pacini of Pescia, and Teatro Verdi of Santa Croce sull’Arno.
A regular guest of Italian Opera Florence since 2012, she has long collaborated with pianist David Boldrini and has also been featured in the Puccini e la sua Lucca International Festival. Her discography includes world-premiere recordings of Cilea songs for Brilliant Classics and Puccini – Portrait of a Woman for Movimento Classical (2024). A recording of Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs with soloists from Teatro alla Scala is forthcoming.
In 2020 she took part in the award-winning lyrical short film Il formaggio by David Boldrini. In 2023, for the Callas anniversary year, she wrote, directed, and performed the theatrical work Maria–Medea: il destino. In summer 2024 she made her debut as stage director with Don Giovanni by Mozart and appeared in Puccini commemorative performances alongside actor Paolo Calabresi.
