Gustavo Humberto Delgado, Violin
​​He began his musical training with his mother Beatriz Canarini de Delgado, on piano, and with Elba Michelleti and Amanda Bolia on violin at the age of 5, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He later studied with professors Alejandro Elijovich and Fernando Hasaj.
 
He graduated as Superior Professor of Violin in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He attended Violin and Chamber Music improvement courses with professors Alberto Lysy, Lierjko Spiller, among others and later received a scholarship at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Gnesin Institute, in Moscow, studying with professors I. B. Bachkova and A. Vilkomirskaia.
 
In Argentina, he was Concertmaster of the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Avellaneda, the Or-chestra of the Municipal Conservatory Julian Aguirre and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Ar-gentine National Radio, he was part of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Teatro Colón and the Buenos Aires Music Festivals Orchestra, where he had the opportunity to work with important national and foreign conductors and soloists. He was the founder of the String Quartet at the University of Bue-nos Aires.
 
In Portugal, where he continued his professional career, he developed and continues to develop an intense pedagogical and artistic activity. He taught Violin and Chamber Music at the Porto Conser-vatory of Music and other music conservatories in the country. He participated in the Gulbenkian Foundation's Contemporary Music Meetings, in the São Roque Festivals in Lisbon; at the João Bal-di Music Festival in the city of Guarda; Raízes Ibéricas Festival, Porto 2001 Capital of Culture; Al-mada Theater Festival and EXPO 98 among others. He participated in the Vallonie International Music Festival (Belgium) and went on a concert tour through the most important cities in Brazil.
 
He was distinguished by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Dr. Jorge Sampaio as “Persona-lity of Culture” in 1999.
 
He served as Pedagogical Director at the Mirandela Professional Arts School. He was part of the pe-dagogical direction of the Covilhã Music Conservatory and later in 2003 he was invited to the posi-tion of Pedagogical Director at EPABI – Escola Profissional de Artes da Covilhã where he remained for six academic years.
 
Since 1990 he has performed uninterrupted teaching duties at the Escola Profissional de Arte de Mi-randela. He is a member of the Gil Teixeira Lopes String Quartet and concertmaster of the Síntese Contemporary Music Group.
