Cosimina Antonella ConfortiFlute & Baroque Traverso
Cosimina Antonella Conforti is an Italian flutist specializing in both modern flute and Baroque traverso. She graduated in Flute in 1997 from the “S. Giacomantonio” Conservatory of Music in Cosenza under the guidance of Daniela Troiani, and in 2001 obtained a four-year Diploma in Music Education with top marks. She later pursued advanced studies in Early Music, specializing in Baroque traverso, earning a Biennial Specialization Certificate in Early Music (2004), a First-Level Academic Diploma in Ancient Instruments (2005), and a Second-Level Academic Diploma in Musical Disciplines (Flute Solo) with highest honors and distinction in 2007.
She has attended numerous advanced courses and masterclasses with internationally renowned artists, including Michel Larrieu, Andrea Persichilli, Alain Marion, Enzo Galante, Michele Marasco, Bruno Canino, and Wolfgang Schulz. In 2006, she was selected as the best student during a masterclass on Mozart’s flute concertos led by Wolfgang Schulz. Her training also includes Baroque flute interpretation and choral conducting.
Conforti has collaborated with the Philarmonia Mediterranea Orchestra at the Teatro “A. Rendano” in Cosenza and has been actively involved in educational opera and music-theatre productions for children, serving as assistant choir master and stage director. She has won numerous national and international competitions, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, and was finalist at the International Early Music Competition of Genoa Nervi with the ensemble Il Riflesso Armonico.
An active performer, she regularly appears as a soloist and chamber musician in concert seasons and festivals across Italy. She was a founding member of the Cosenza Baroque Ensemble and participated in recordings dedicated to 18th-century European repertoire, as well as contemporary flute productions published by major Italian music magazines. Her performances have been broadcast on national and international radio stations, including Radio Vaticana.
Alongside her concert activity, she is regularly invited to teach masterclasses and has been engaged in music education in secondary schools since 2003.
