Bruno Pereira is a singer, performer, teacher, and researcher.
After more than 15 years of intensive operatic practice, over the last decade he has focused his artistic and research work on contemporary performance and vocal improvisation. He has created and presented numerous solo experimental works and collaborative projects with artists such as Girilal Baars, Dimitris Andrikopoulos, Horacio Tomé-Marques, Telmo Marques, António Aguiar, Mário Azevedo, Theodore Parker, Mantautas Krukauskas, Helena Marinho, Rui Penha, Øyvind Brandtsegg, among others.
His creative output includes performances, works, and recordings such as Quartas Paredes, Borderline 194, innere gesang, HISS, Paracetamol Blues, 1001 Mornings, and Once Upon Two Times. He is a co-founder of the ensembles T3+1, NERD-C, and MiLA, all dedicated to experimental and improvised music.
Bruno Pereira has performed and taught in a wide range of contexts across Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Turkey, Slovenia, Russia, Lithuania, Argentina, Mozambique and Brazil. Classically trained singer, he holds a PhD in Arts (Contemporary Performative Practices) and is a member of i2ADS (Institute of Research in Art, Design and Society), where his research focuses on the voice–body relationship and improvisation.
